We were honoured to stand in unity with MP George Chahal, MP Pat Kelly, MP Ron Liepert, MLA Ric McIver, Councillor Terry Wong, and CBE Trustees Nancy Close and Susan Vukadinovic, as well as honoured guests George and Nichole Porter and representatives of the Crimean Tatar community Elmira Kataki and her daughter Elviie, our own UCC correspondent Anhelina Taran, and keynote speaker Bohdan Romaniuk.

Special thank you to vocalists Anna-Mariya Zagirska and Ульяна Баглай, pianist Oksana Yaremchuk, as well as Korinnya Ukrainian Folk Ensemble Calgary led by Iryna Melnyk-Kalinovich for sharing your musical gifts with us for the event.

 Since the full scale war broke on February 24, 2022, UCC Calgary organized the following rallies, including a large event at the City Hall: 
February 24 - Peace Bridge; 
February 27 - Holodomor Monument; 
March 6 - Calgary City Hall, Municipal Plaza;
​April 9 - Memorial Drive 
June 4 - St. Vladimir's - Olympic Plaza - Stephen Ave
with thousands in attendance, strong political support across all government levels, comprehensive media coverage. Our youth leaders contributed greatly into planning and delivery of the events. ​We thank Her Worship Dr Jyoti Gondek and Members of City Council, MP Kmiec, MP Rempel Garner, and other MPs and MLAs who joined, Bohdan Romaniuk, Stephania Romaniuk, Ihor Bohdan, Slava Sles, Representatives of other Ethnic Communities, including from Belarus, Russia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria and other.
